Mobilising People to Think for Themselves
Our aim is to get people thinking, not just to inform people of a particular point of view or to download a whole lot of information. This distinction is important because if we are to see real change in our world and if we are going to see new generations standing for truth, we need to be equipping people to think and act for themselves.
Incorporating Both the Micro Response and the Macro Ideology
Perhaps the biggest cause of debate and conflict between Christians and non-Christans alike, is a confusion of the micro and the macro: what should be an individual's response and what should be a big picture stance.
As Christians we should respond on the micro level with compassion, serving and meeting the needs of those around us. On a macro level, however, we should champion the cause of wanting to see people freed from addictions and that it is not God's intended plan for humanity to see people trapped by drugs.
Resistance Thinking attempts to make a clear distinction between a micro response and a macro ideology as to avoid needless conflict. Our aim is to encourage people to think on a macro level, to engage in all the complexities, and as a result of that thinking respond in a way that is consistent with the conclusions that one comes to.
Holistic Approach to a Christian Worldview
Resistance Thinking seeks to engage in all areas of life and our world - taking a holistic approach to a Christan worldview. It can be argued that often Christians only tackle certain aspects of thinking about our world at the expense of others, RT seeks to engage on the various categories of thought as equally as possible (see RT Content Management).
Biblical Truth Presented with Postmodern Sensibilities
Resistance Thinking attempts to filter all its thoughts through a postmodern filter (postmodern the era, not the philosophy). We aim to predict how young people will see the issues, and take them from that place to a Biblically centered view. To do that, particular emphasis will be placed on using language, images, ideas and concepts that are accessible to young people, whilst always remaining true to the Bible.
